BME Research that Matches Your Interests

Biomedical engineering research at Case spans a wide spectrum of activities, from engineering design to hypothesis-driven investigations; from studies at the molecular level to studies at the level of physiological systems; and from basic science to clinical applications. Contact the primary faculty and associated faculty to match current research programs with your particular research interests.

 
RESEARCH AREAS

Comprehensive Research Advising

You'll interact most closely with your research advisor to develop your graduate research program. In addition, a network of advising resources will also assist you with your research plans: you'll often meet with your Guidance Committee consisting of at least four faculty members, the department's Graduate Education Committee meets biweekly to evaluate graduate research proposals, and all primary faculty review progress of each student twice per year. This strong commitment to research advising guarantees that the entire department provides valuable support during the initial stages of your research career.

Join our Research Community

When you join BME at Case, you are joining an extensive research community. For example, you'll have chances to develop new research ideas during joint group meetings and scheduled visits with external speakers. You'll have opportunities to interact with many new collaborators as your research develops in new directions. You'll disseminate your research results throughout the international research community through publications, patents, grant proposals, and presentations at Case and at external conferences.

Conferences Attended by Graduate Students

Conferences and society meetings are a great way for graduate students to meet and exchange ideas with other researchers and industry representatives in their field. BME graduate students at Case have the opportunity to attend many different conferences related to their research and frequently present their research at such conferences.

Graduate Student Research Awardees

BME graduate students at Case have been the recipients of a variety of awards, ranging from fellowships and research support to winning design competitions to receiving travel awards to attend conferences.
