Current Activities: My research involves developing thermosensitive lipid drug carriers for controlled release of chemotherapeutic drugs in tumors. The purpose is to limit exposure of the drug to healthy parts of the body and to maximize therapeutic efficiency.

Why Case? The BME department at Case is top-ranked and the size of the department lends to having a great social scene. Also, due to the excellent medical school and proximity of University Hospitals, any project is possible with the collaboration of the adjunct professors in the hospital. Furthermore, the BME department has an excellent selection of interesting courses.

Advice for Applicants: Be prepared to spend a lot of time on class-work during your first year. Early on, you should also be reading a lot of journal articles so that once you and your advisor have a great idea you can´t wait to get started on, you are already familiar with the state-of-the-art. Though daunting at first, reading articles becomes easy and enjoyable with time so don´t be afraid to make it a habit in the beginning!
