Post-Doctoral Fellow in Systems Biology of Iron Metabolism: Computational Modeling and Cellular Experiments

POSTED 10/26/2009
Starting Date: January 2010

A continuation of collaboration research on "Multi-level analysis of iron metabolism"  by Dr. Gerald Saidel, Case Western Reserve University, and Dr. Paul Fox, Cleveland Clinic, funded by NIH, includes an outstanding opportunity for a postdoctoral Research Associate.  This position requires Ph.D.-level research experience in computer modeling and simulation of metabolic and transport processes at the cellular and tissue levels and knowledge of cellular studies. A systems biology approach will be utilized to study the mechanisms regulating iron homeostasis during chronic kidney disease (CKD) and devise regimens for individualized treatment. This position is well suited for a researcher with a background in simulation of dynamic systems with MATLAB and interest in cellular experiments.

In employment, as in education, Case Western Reserve University is committed to equal opportunity and world-class diversity.
