Dr. Melissa Knothe Tate, a Professor in the Departments of Biomedical and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, received the 2009 Research Fund Award from the AO Foundation at their 2009 trustees meeting in Chicago. Dr. Knothe Tate was acknowledged for her research group’s discoveries in the area of endogenous bone generation and repair (see here for further details of this research program). The AO Foundation is a nonprofit organization led by an international group of surgeons specialized in the treatment of trauma and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
