BME Researcher Receives Young Investigator Award

Dr. Marty Pagel

Marty Pagel will present research accomplishments at the Contrast Media Research 2005 Symposium in France

Marty Pagel has received a Young Investigator Award from the organizers of the Contrast Media Research Symposium. Dr. Pagel will receive the award and present his research at the 2005 Symposium in Evian France, on Oct 11-16, 2005. CMR2005 attracts an audience of international experts in the development and application of chemical and biochemical agents for biomedical imaging.

According to Marty, "I'm honored to represent Case at this important meeting. It's a great opportunity to meet and learn from experts in imaging contrast media. This award is one small indicator that biomedical imaging resarch here at Case is rapidly growing and attracting even more attention." This growth in biomedical imaging has included the hiring of 7 new BME and Radiology faculty members, renovation of 4th floor laboratories of Wickenden Building, and construction of a state-of-the-art Imaging Research Center during the last few years.

"Athough I'm at the early stages of my academic career", adds Marty, "renaming this honor as a ´Young-at-Heart Investigator Award´ may be more appropriate. But seriously, I really do want to thank the symposium organizers for this tremendous opportunity to attend CMR2005."
