BME Student Awarded Fulbright Scholarship

Andrea Snyder has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to support her research activities at the University of Würzburg in Würzburg, Germany during the 2005-2006 academic year. Ms. Snyder will collaborate with Dr. Peter Jakob and his research group at the University if Würzburg to develop new clinical MRI methods for fast biomedical imaging with state-of-the-art high magnetic fields. This tremendous research opportunity builds on Ms. Snyder's strong academic background in biomedical imaging & computing at Case Western Reserve University.

Ms. Snyder has very recently graduated summa cum laude from Case Western Reserve University with a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering, a B.A. degree in Chemistry, and a minor in German. She was awarded the Mark Bernstein Award from the Department of Biomedical Engineering for these academic accomplishments. Her diverse academic career at Case was also highlighted by diverse research collaborations with Drs. Warren Grill and Marty Pagel. After completing her year at the University of Würzburg, Ms. Snyder will return to the United States to continue her studies and research in a MD/PhD program.
