BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

Building Relationships with Employers

The Case Biomedical Engineering Program has developed a strong connection with employers. These efforts include the development of a BME Student Employment Program. This program allows employers to specifically target BME students (graduate and undergraduate) for all their hiring needs. Our department works directly with employers to match students with employers. We assist employers in filling full-time, part-time, co-op, or internship opportunities within their organization. (View 2002 placement information).

Our department also works with employers to make connections in the area of sponsored research and collaborations. Our Director of Employer Relations can work with employers to make connections with departmental faculty or schedule campus visits. Additionally, we also offer a multitude of research equipment available for use in our various laboratories. External collaborators are encouraged to contact department faculty and staff to employ these research resources within new research collaborations.

With a large number of our graduates choosing careers in industry, the Case Biomedical Engineering Department has sought was to strengthen the preparedness of our students for industrial jobs. New courses with an industrial focus, increased experiential learning opportunities, and curricular input from industrial experts are some of the ways we are accomplishing this goal.
