EBME 409. Systems and Signals in Biomedical Engineering

 

Description
Signal analysis to extract information using time and frequency domain analyses, continuous and discrete. Fourier and Laplace transform methods. Linear feedback and control systems. Noise and filtering. Spatially lumped and distributed modeling and parameter estimation of dynamic systems. Initial- and boundary-value problems. Matrix methods. Applications include enzyme kinetics, hemodialysis, respiratory control, drug delivery, cell migration. Numerical analysis and simulation using MATLAB.

Prerequisites
EBME 308 or equivalent.
