The Oversight Committee (OC) plays a critical role in the impact, success and growth of the translational research partnership. Translational research is a moderately new field, so achieving the desired program outcomes demands committee member coaching, knowledge, skills, abilities and networks. Overall, the primary roles of the OC are to (A) Select projects for funding, (B) oversee the TRP program, (C) ensure the sustainability of the TRP through operating reviews, and (D) conduct project reviews, coaching, and mentorship to facilitate transition of projects.

The OC assists in formulating translational research strategy, and assures a diversity of risk in the project portfolio. This somewhat challenging task is successfully accomplished through stakeholder representation aligned with the technology commercialization process; the OC membership described below is a balanced mix of internal and external subject matter experts.
